Most netgames are based on relatively well-known games. Some are based on lesser-known syndicated or cable shows. Net Bumper Stumpers is one of the latter.

Based on the popular show on the USA Network in the late 80s, Net Bumper Stumpers was created by venerable host Doug Morris as a multi-team upgrade to the hobby of deciphering vanity license plates.

In Doug's version, three teams of three played six rounds of picking from a pair of license plates and working out which one belongs to a certain someone. Cash was accured throughout the game until two teams emerged to take part in the Stumper Showdown. The winning team went on to the bonus round for a chance and thousands of dollars and, possibly, a new car...while avoiding the evil "STOP" sign!

Net Bumper Stumpers introduced two new twists. One being the inclusion of trivia questions mixed in with the plate-solving. The other was the "Celebrity Two-Car Garage", where the object was to find out what one famous person owned the cars with two distinctive plates on them.

After years of giving us intriguing plates and wonderful riddles, Doug stepped down as host. But Brian Bosko picked the baton up and did what he could to continue the tradition of this relatively-obscure show. Sadly, it seems that even the website is non-existant anymore.

Now, a slightly-modified version of Doug's show will show six hosts just how well they know plates!
