'Net Price is Right!
on

IIt all started in early 1995, when Aaron Solomon and Randy Amasia got together and decided to make an internet version of one of the most popular game shows ever to come out of the Goodson/Toddman machine: "Match Game".

But, instead of having a host and celebrities playing, they chose to make this first-ever "netgame" TOTALLY interactive. They put out the word about the game and stated that, instead of matching six random "celebs",...they had to match EACH OTHER in order to get points. They ALSO made the innovation that ANYONE can come up with a cool <<BLANK>>-laden statement to use in the game...and they mean ANYONE!!

Is it any wonder that it became so popular?! It ran for over seven years on a.t.g-s and has had several attempts of revamping before the spammers took over the group and the netgamers moved on to quieter fields. Even today, the game is spoke of with great respect amidst the community.

One version of "Net Match Game" that has endured is the version of the short-lived hybrid series, "The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour". Doug and Ryan Morris (no relation) run a more traditional version "Match Game" with contestants and "celebs" (Chris Wolvie has been a "celeb" four times thus far)...but the funny and topical <<BLANK>> questions remain the same.

Tonight, Doug and Ryan will join Jay and our three other hosts in a version that brings back the fun of the original netgame...only in more compact form!
